Rebuild PHL

Building an engagement playbook for Rebuild PHL stakeholders

The Rebuild Communications and Community Engagement Handbook is a guide for teams working on Rebuild projects to help support a more inclusive and impactful engagement process across all rebuild projects.

Hinge Collective supported a large team of thought leaders to develop a strategy that acknowledges that engagement is not the same across all communities and projects, but that provides some benchmarks for identifying inclusive and reciprocal practices.

With expertise in both design and community engagement, Hinge Collective was instrumental in developing guidelines for integrating engagement into all aspects of design. Hinge was able to bring their in-depth understanding of the design process to support the development of a strategy that considered how communities could participate in the decision-making processes that have typically not been accessible to communities but that greatly impact the outcome of design.

The process of developing the guide included workshops and focus group meetings with Project Users, Site Managers, and Project Managers. These meetings and interviews supplied the foundation for understanding how the guide can best support all of the various parties that participate in the important work of Rebuild.
